The
new transfer station being built at Nursery Road will be open from
October 1st. The landfill will no longer accept general refuse and will
be converted into a clean fill site as part of the restoration of the
site.
Refuse can be disposed of at the transfer station, where it will be
consolidated and shipped to Bonny Glen (a modern landfill in
Rangitikei). Two trucks per day will make the journey, taking away over
50 tonnes of rubbish.
