Transfer Stations A Transfer Station is a holding facility for rubbish where waste is deposited and reloaded into larger trucks for more cost-efficient transportation to land fills, recycling centres, and resource recovery sites.
Carterton Refuse Transfer Station There are several transfer stations in Wairarapa which have been operating for some time. From 1st October 2006 these will be joined by new transfer stations at Martinborough and Masterton.
